No surprise here.  Like Brault, he would not have been here two years from now, and he wasn’t going to help the team win in the meantime.  Better to give playing time to someone younger.

After watching him play in RF last season, it was plain to see that Yoshi was best suited for 1B. Besides, there will be a minor leaguer or two who will get opportunities in the outfield next season. Those two things, on top of Moran's failure to develop into the player the Pirates had hoped, made Moran expendable. Again, his release is a positive to me.
