Pirates have come up with another lame ad campaign: "Every seat at PNC Park has a story."

Sam Howard had his usual poor outing. 3 runs, 3 hits, 2 walks in 0.2 IP. Greg Brown said Howard is a lock to make the staff because of the great season he had last year. Last year he had an ERA of 5.60 and walked 32 in 45 IP. Great season? Yeah, right.

He probably will make the team due to the expanded rosters to 28 players, but if he starts off the season poorly, he may be a cut come May 1 when rosters return to 26.

Alford also has struckout twice tonight. In my opinion he does not come north with the team. He just does not make enough contact.

Alford is out of options so he'll be given chance to make the team. But he's going to have to get hot next week. Even if he gets cut, he'll probably clear waivers in case they want to keep him in AAA.
