Marte has started this shortened year very well. Is hitting.369 had a homer, and 4 rbi in today’s game. I still think the players we received in return for him will develop into very good players.

Robbie Erlin started for the Braves today, and pitched 4 innings giving up a single hit, and struck out 5.

I watched some of this. I guess Del Pozo is better than Erlin in the Pirates universe. Erlin lowered his ERA to 5.40 on the season. The start before this he gave up 3 homers to the Phillies in 2.2 innings.
Del Pozo throws harder for sure, and Erlin has had chances with the Padres so the choice the Pirates made on this is one way of evaluating their player evaluation ability.

Wow! I wonder what the MLBPA will have to say if the Indians keep them down long enough to come up short of the required service time to effect FA and Super 2?

In a perfect world, the Union would chastise the players for not being responsible, make them apologize to their teammates, and then accept the penalties from the club. But in today's world, both players will probably get raises.

Daniel Hudson gave up 4 in the ninth as the Braves beat the Nats with walk off homer by Dansby Swanson. Gave up 2 2 run homers and hit a batter. Now 1-2 with 2 blown saves. He has 4 saves.

Phil Gosselin is 12 for 28 (.429) with 3 HRs for the Phillies.
That's more hits than our starting CFer and RFer combined, who have amassed a grand total of 9 hits in 82 ABS (.110). Of course Dyson is doing the heavy lifting to get that combined BA over .100 as his .143 runs rings around dream outfielder Polanco's .075.
