Why the Brebbia hate?  He was an effective reliever.

I didn't rate him. Perhaps you should direct your query to the panel.

You think the Pirates did a good thing by not signing him, or is this another inside joke?

_______

It is not an inside joke. If Cherington does not acquire a player, Doc will say it is good. If Cherington dumps a player, Doc will say it is good. If Cherington acquires a player, Doc will say it is good. If Cherington does absolutely nothing the entire off season, Doc will say it is good. According to Doc, Cherington can do no wrong.

If the numbers you award teams were equivalent to the grades we all received in school (5=A, 4=B, etc), the Giants GM would have a report card he'd be hiding from his mom and dad. Yet he's looking like a high Honor Roll student in your poll. And you spend your time ripping Cherington. Some Pirates fan you are.

If we did that, Cherington wouldn't have a report card at all.

Let's see:  Cherington does nothing, the result being no improvement.  On the other hand, that inaction hasn't made the team worse.  Sabean signs five guys who collectively make the Giants worse than a year ago.  Yet Cherington's the bad GM?  Are you absolutely sure you're a Pirates fan?
