Before Alford was picked off, Fowler squared to bunt. I wouldn't waste one of the few players on the bench to bunt for a pitcher. Kuhl could have bunted. Shelton made a lot of odd decisions last year and this looked like another. But the pickoff took the bunt off and the PH single made Shelton look good. But Shelton worries me.

I was thinking same unless he was just showing bunt.
