I fear that Frazier will become the starting second baseman leaving Gonzalez to play “here and there” as Shelton loves to do with young guys. You know, so they can’t get in any type of rhythm
That should be a fear. This organization does everything assbackwards.

Pham is in camp today, so I assume a corresponding roster will be forth coming. I think they will just put Dauri Moreta on the 60 day IL.

The Pirates are signing Andrew Heaney on a Major League Contract of 5 million plus incentives.

While I admit a team never has enough major league pitching, this season is a perfect time to introduce the younger pitchers (Ashcraft, Chandler, Burrows, and/or Harrington) to the major leagues in preparation for the next several seasons, since management has pretty much already mailed it in on this one based on their offseason work. Is this a guy who was acquired just so he can be dealt at the Deadline for yet another Single A middle infielder?

Cubs just made Alexander Canario available when they signed Justin Turner. He has some nice numbers and is only 24.
He probably won’t be available by the time the Pirates put in a waiver claim in the 8th position. They should look into making a trade maybe a Suwinski back to his hometown for Canario.

Doc, I know what you mean, but Heaney is a lefty, and so this move gets a thumbs up from me. I actually have more confidence in Heaney than Falter. Buccos haven't taken proper advantage of PNC'S layout for several years now. Now let's see if Shelton can manage his resources.
