I almost fell out of my chair, Brault actually made good commentary and was pretty savage (in a nice way) ripping Heller and how he pitched. Usually he's just Wehner without the cotton balls in his mouth.

I started following the game in the later innings but I read in this thread about the Twins scoring on a blown call by the umpires on a foul ball. Can someone explain the situation to me? Thanks.
Here's what happened. The pitch grazed the bat and then hit Davis's glove
and the ball got by Davis and a run scored. Play is not reviewable. All 4 umps
blew the call. Watching the replay it was obvious the ball hit the bat first.

Heller should be on the first bus to Bradenton. Don't know
how a Major League team can justify having someone like
that on the Roster

It shouldn't have been a tough call for the umps. The ball hit the fat part of the bat and radically changed direction. But not 1 of 4 umpires saw it.

The bottom line is that obviously blown call on the foul tip cost the Pirates the game. Otherwise it’s a 4-3 win

I just saw the video and it’s hard to imagine the home plate umpire missed that, indeed all of the umpires missed it. The deflection couldn’t have been more apparent. Both Davis and Jones realized immediately that the ball struck the bat. And the fact that it’s not reviewable is asinine. If the purpose of the replay system is to correct mistakes, then every play should be reviewable, or don’t even bother. It’s one of the reasons why I hate the whole thing and wish it would be discontinued.

I only got to see it on the replay, and there's no home colored glasses on this one. How on earth none of them saw, heard, knew that was a foul ball is beyond me. I mean, it was right in the middle of the bat!!! How is this not reviewable?

Great job by Holderman.
Especially since it was Stratton
Funny I watched Stratton and typed Holderman.
