But they have a sweep of a series :(
Who did they sweep?

Scherzer gets his 3.000 career K. he is the 19th Pitcher to get it. He and Verlander are the only two active players to have done it

Now I'll root for them to be dispatched quickly in the playoffs.

I looked it up and it was believe it or not- Houston in a three game series. They did beat Boston early in April 3 games but the fourth was rained out and Boston won the make up.

Houston should have to forfeit a draft pick

Giants first team to clinch a playoff spot.

Remember when so many thought it was a forgone conclusion the NL West would have both wild cards? Yet look who's still hanging around-Cincinnati and The Loo, along with the Phils and Mets, as the Padres have really faltered. Padres are 25-36 for July, August, and September going 11-14, 11-15, and so far 3-7 in those months.

Rest of Sept. for the Padres is brutal: 3 more on the road against the Giants, then 3 on the road in The Loo; They come home to face the Giants again for 3 games, then the Braves for 3 and a completion of a suspended game; then back out on the road for 3 in LA followed by 3 in San Fran.

I believe heads will roll in San Diego after the money they spent

I doubt it. They're as likely to add even more.
