Why not?
______

To get scored, he must have a major league contract.

They claimed him off waivers so why is that not a MLB contract ? He is also on the roster. He is not arb. eligible until 2022. So in my opinion that is a MLB contract which is under the 0 to 3 years of service._____

I don't make the decision of whether or not  it is a major league contract.  I use rotoworld and prosportsdaily.  If they say it is a major league contract, I go with it.  If they do not, I do not score that player.
Why would rotoworld and prosportsdaily feel the need to mention that a player moving from one MLB team to another is on a major league contract? So since they since they didn't feel the need to point out the obvious, you are going to assume it must be a minor league contract so that you can avoid giving Cherington the credit you give other GMs. So the entire point of this thread is to manufacture a way to say Cherington did nothing while giving credit to other GMs for doing the same thing. Have you discounted every move of a player from one MLB team to another if rotoworld and prosportsdaily didn't bother to mention the player is still on a MLB contract?

If the POTUS can issue an Executive Order by the power invested in him, I as Big Cheese Admin of OBN by the power invested in me, do hereby order shedman to give Cherrington +.5 for obtaining Perez.  Hope to it shed!

I am unable to do that. There have been a number of players who have been acquired after other GM's have waived them and they have not been scored. I have no way to go back and retrieve that information. However, if any of those players make the club out of spring training, they will be counted at that point.

Even if you were able, it would be up to you to give the score you want.

"Cubs claimed RHP Robert Stock off waivers from the Red Sox.

Stock was designated for assignment by the Red Sox last week to open up a roster spot for Joel Payamps. The hard-throwing 31-year-old has a career 4.24 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 63 2/3 major league innings." - Robert Stock was not scored.

I think the whole system is a bunch of nonsense. It is just a graph to take a unnecessary negative view of Ben Cherington because his only trade of significance was the Marte one. Let’s see what he and his staff can do over a longer period of time than one year.

I agree with that- If a player makes a team out of Spring Training we should count him, Other than that NO

Common sense prevails!

Anyway, we can wait a year. Wait a couple of years.

Next thing you know, you're 41 years out, dead last, and still waiting for that year. Time flies when you have this much fun. ;)
