Relief pitching has given up 7 runs in 14 IP for an ERA of 4.50 (the 2 runs in the extra inning game are unearned)
The bullpen was handed the lead in 3 of the 4 games, and the game was tied in the other game when the bullpen came in.
The biggest problem though is the 8-40 RISP number. That's a .200 average, if my calculations are correct. That's actually better than their overall batting average of .184! Can you believe that there are 5 teams with worse batting averages? Can you believe that three of them are Atlanta, Houston, and the Mets?
Ten teams are hitting below .200 in MLB!

Did he actually say that?????
Unbelievable. Derek we competed against a team that lost 100 games and has no direction and no name recognition.
Sure am glad we can hang with the bottom feeders.
What an idiotic statement to make.

It just shows that they have no expectation of winning. There’s no disgust at how the games went. There’s no feeling that it was unacceptable. They’re just satisfied to have been close in each game, even against an incredibly weak opponent. Because the Pirates are incredibly weak themselves.JollyRoger8 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 3:21 amDid he actually say that?????

Gotta love the Cherington/Shelton approach to improving the team. Last year, Bednar performed very poorly as the closer. This year, the plan is to hope that Bednar doesn't perform very poorly as the closer. Cockeyed optimism! That's the ticket!

Yeah, like this doozy: "We have a lot of things to work on." Jesus, Shelton, your team just came out of seven weeks of Spring Training! It's called "Training" for a reason! What were you guys doing during that time? Actually, these mistakes have been going on year after year. They're not new. They started during each player's first year in the organization and have never been corrected. Either that or the players are ignoring the teaching. And no one's ever made them accountable.Surgnbuck wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 5:53 amhttps://www.mlb.com/pirates/news/pirate ... -walk-offsJollyRoger8 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 3:21 amDid he actually say that?????

It's hard to determine which is the biggest problem: the owner, the Front Office, the manager, the coaches, the players, the scouting, the drafting, the development. The whole organization is a disaster.
Re: Official Game Lineup - 3/30 - Bucs @ Marlins
it chaps my tail that the Bucs waited until the last week of spring training to say Endy may play some first base. All the evidence shows that the analytics department and coaches are clueless (maybe they are like the Washington Generals and get paid to lose)Doc wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 1:30 pmYeah, like this doozy: "We have a lot of things to work on." Yeah, that was a perfect example of the management being clueless and unprepared. No wonder the players play like they do. And I have no doubt that Nutting is being paid to lose. It's happened far too often under his ownership to think otherwise.Ecbucs wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 3:52 pmit chaps my tail that the Bucs waited until the last week of spring training to say Endy may play some first base.
