Needless to say, it's good that no one is on base with Kim coming up to bat.

I don't get how Priester gets tagged with that run. His guy was eliminated on the play to second. I thought for sure that was Borucki's run.

So if two guys are on, no outs. a ball is hit twice, and both of those guys are outs on the two hits. Then a guy hits a 3 run HR. Those two other hits that score would be charged to the guy who was pulled after allowing the first two guys on?
Bob Prince used to explain that. It's called "substitution of the runner." Priester put the runner on 1B. When the next batter hit into a fielder's choice, the runner at 1B was forced at 2B and the batter was substituted at 1B for the batter Priester allowed to reach. So even after the force at 2B, Priester was responsible for there still being someone on 1B.
So the scenario I mentioned, they'd be responsible for two runs. wow. the things you learn
No, not in that scenario. When a runner is hit by a batted ball it is ruled a single for the batter. So the new pitcher is responsible for batters he allowed to reach on hits, regardless of how those hits occurred. The "substitution of the runner" rule applies to force outs but not to singles where the previous runner is called out. It would be the same as if a pitcher allowed a single and then was replaced by a new pitcher who allowed another single but the previous runner was out trying for 3B. The new pitcher is responsible for the batter he allowed to reach on a single even though the previous runner was out.
