one of the worst GM's ever for our beloved Buccos!
I don't think it's even close he's the worst one I remember the last 55 years.
Littlefield was so bad he was practically cartoonish. Sort of the Wile E. Coyote of GMs. Every move he made resulted in an Acme anvil dropping on his head.

As a fan, I occasionally felt like Wile back then.

Build up a little enthusiasm, think there might be momentum. . . Then Littlefield would pull a Moskos and

Joel Hanrahan has announced his retirement.

Injuries have kept him off the mound since 2013.

Hanrahan was a good guy and stopper for our Bucs before we had success! Tip of the cap to Joel...

Astros sign Charlie Morton.

He wasn't a free agent for long. From MLB Trade rumors:

he Astros announced that they’ve signed right-hander Charlie Morton to a two-year contract. The 33-year-old is a client of Jet Sports.

Morton has spent the bulk of his career with the Pirates but spent the 2016 season in the Phillies organization after being acquired in a trade last winter. However, Morton suffered a torn hamstring after just four starts in Philadelphia and ultimately required season-ending surgery to repair the injury, leaving him with a total of just 17 1/3 innings pitched in 2016. His contract with the Phils contained a $9.5MM mutual option, but that was bought out by the team, allowing Morton to hit the open market in search of a new deal.

The Astros announced that they’ve signed right-hander Charlie Morton to a two-year contract. The 33-year-old Jet Sports client will receive a $14MM guarantee with up to $5MM worth of guarantees, per Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter links). He’ll earn a $625K bonus for reaching 15, 20, 25 and 30 starts in each year of the contract. SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo adds (via Twitter) that the guaranteed portion of the deal is evenly distributed, meaning Morton will earn $7MM in 2017 and in 2018.

Good luck to Charlie Morton!~ Enjoyed his days as a Pirate. Guy had a lot of class! Sure he was not Nolan Ryan, but he gave his all and then some. When healthy, he certainly could generate the ground outs.

Best of Luck Charlie in Houston...

Just thinking that it was over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2004 when the news broke that Jason Kendall was being traded to Oakland. There were trade rumors prior to that, but this rumor to Oakland was for real. This almost appears like the same situation we now have with Cutch. A couple rumors about the Nats and Mariners asking about Cutch, but one of these days a rumor may turn out to be true.
