if the Pirates think he has mlb potential he will get promoted to Altoona soon (no later than after minor league all star break).

He just got promoted to Bradenton, so I would be shocked if he moves to Altoona this year.

Avg age in FSL is 22.9 so he's 1 year older than average age.

Avg age in Eastern league is 24.3 so he's not far off if he doesn't reach AA until next year.

Just noticed that Kevin Kramer is beginning to play some outfield, so it looks like they maybe grooming him to become the utility player like they had with Harrison his first couple of years with Pittsburgh.

The pitching line for Trevor Williams tonight was 3 innings, 2 runs , 4 hits , 1 walk and 5k’s . I would guess he may start vs the Tigers next week.

If he stays healthy, he could be a big contributor from left side eventually.

Too soon to call the DSL2 team a juggernaut? It seems like they have 10+ hits and nearly that many runs every day. I have no idea who the bigger int'l signs were, so I don't have a sense if this is a bunch of pleasant surprises or kids playing as expected or a mix of both.

Yeah, I hated having to go back to the P2 signing list, so I made a list of the top signings from the last two years to get a look. Their two best hitters, Mojica (1.279 OPS) and Nadal (1.029 OPS) were 6 figure guys from last signing period, Arroyo (.993 OPS) was signed the year before, but he is only turning 18 next month. Other 800 OPS + guys, Lopez and Nolasco got big bonuses and Custudio got a 6 figure bonus from the Rockies withdrawn after a failed physical, but seems like he's ok.

DS1 has some guys mashing as well. Jerez (1.141 OPS) and Chivilli (1.180) were both big bonus guys. Chivilli has fewer PA's though and amazingly, out of all these guys mentioned, is the only one with a troubling K:BB ratio.

Per P2, JT Brubaker and Brandon Mauer sent to Morgantown on rehab assignment. Looks like JT will start for the Black Bears tonight if the weather holds which I hope it doesn't cause Mrs. Possum & I have tix for tomorrow's Black Bears game.
