I couldnt help but think what if the Braves had won with Melancon getting the save?

Gerrit Cole Tyler Glasnow Charlie Morton Mark Melancon...Austin Meadows Starling Marte in the OF....wonder what a team comprised of all those guys could have done

Good luck Gents!

I hate to brag but I've been spectacular throughout these playoffs.

Much, much damage.

And,  this is my reason for holding my opinions re any future wave.  We won't keep the future guys any longer than we kept these.  The price isn't going down any.

Best team money can buy vs. small market - should be a good series

I have to admit I'm pulling for the Rays.

Well, whaddaya know? "The Best Team Money Can Buy." I call B.S. on that.

The Dodgers are everything we want the Pittsburgh Pirates to BE or become:

Of their current active roster, only the following players have ever played as much as one game for any other franchise:

Gaterol

Kelly

McGee

Treinen

Wood

Betts

Pollack

Some were acquired by....trade.

Unlike (ahem) certain teams, the Dodgers have been able to develop talent and keep it.

Go Blue!

Not only is Tampa Bay probably the sentimental favorite, but I'm guessing secretly, every owner in baseball save the Dodgers is cheering for them too.

The problem with big money teams like the dodgers, for as much as this team is home grown, is the years they were abysmal in the draft and made horrid trades, much like we are seeing with Boston right now.

The Red Sox were challenging to be the worst team in baseball, with an enormous payroll. So they miss a year or two, benefit from tanking, then can reload quickly with 200 million plus payrolls.

That's the problem when I see people rooting for the Dodgers because of how they finally lined things up well. Yes, they deserve credit for that. Just like Boston, when they go bad, they can fix it much faster.

Sorry, but don't try and impress me with the acumen of a franchise with deep pockets. It's a cherry pick for where they are now.

They're still only 9 years better than the Pirates in recent WS victory, which isn't saying much. Maybe this will be their year. Sooner or later, if you buy enough cards for bingo, you'll finally win one of the games.
