I've been watching baseball for 62 years. I don't think I've seen too many managers that would have left Kuhl in the game after a 3 run HR tied the score and the next batter singled. He had a fully rested BP besides . Mind boggling... Not even to mention Keller was under 90 pitches and rolling.

The Cards did it last week when the Bucs smoked them but that pitcher only threw 13 or 14 pitches. There was plenty of chances for Shelton (and the pitching coach) to decide Kuhl didn't have it tonight.

If we keep Marin as pitching coach going into 2022..... the guy has to go.

Not quite as perplexing. Miller started that inning and gave up 2 base runners to start it. Cabrerea did give up 4 singles to follow that but at least 2 were really cheap hits. 3 of the next 4 batters were left handed so I can at least "consider" leaving him in as he's a really tough lefty. Certainly didn't work out and I see your point .

Soul crushing to have Difo drop a popup and cost the Bucs the game!

To think I stayed up late for this!

Cumulatively, pretty frightening to see so many struggling so badly.

There's no question this is a really bad group. Just considering the position players, only Reynolds and Hayes could start for other clubs. Maybe Moran for a few teams. But it's not like it's the first year for trotting out bad players. Even the best players from the past several years weren't keeping the team from having losing records. The best thing to do was to tear it down and start over.
