Seems like a day for the Bucs to advance some prospects. According to the Pirates Prospects Site, Matt Gorski is being promoted to Altoona. He hit three homers for Greensboro today giving him 17 for the season. It will be interesting to see if he can carryover that production to AA.

Gorksi was off to a great start, and on pace for a 50/30 season as a Grasshopper. He is probably more important than you think. He was a second round pick in 2019 and stole 57 out of 60 attempts at IU. Left-center in PNC is a ways out there…. Gorski can get there.

Both Cruz and Martin homered in the Indy 8-5 win this afternoon. Both players are making a strong effort to join the Pirates. I just saw a video replay of both home runs, and you just hope that power translates to the Majors.

Cruz has to be looked at via recent performance because his BA is too far gone at Indy to look good anytime soon, if at all. But in his last 7 games he's hitting .286 with a double, 3 HRs and 10 RBIs. With Newman going on the 60 day IL, Cruz should be up soon if he keeps hitting.

Martin is also hot but he'd be replacing someone who Nutting is paying 4 million this year. So it's hard to imagine Yoshi even being benched, must less removed from the roster. If it was Cherington's idea to sign Yoshi he might be very reluctant to admit failure and replace him.

Same kind of stuff was said about Todd Frazier last year, how'd that turn out? Yoshi hasn't been hitting much but when a guy is on third less than 2 outs he has been getting them in. He's not completely useless.

Matt Gorski was promoted to AA . Good for him 17hr @ Greensboro . ;D

2for 5 with a HR in debut.

Also, been stalking, Greensboro OF/INF Yoyner Fajardo. He needs more AB`s . The guy seems like he wants to hit. Don`t know if he was hurt last year or what but not much playing time. And not enough this year, 23 nice build another lefty.

It might be nothing, but Cruz is not in the Indy lineup tonight. If Chavis is going to miss any time due to his elbow, then someone has to replace him. I wonder if Cruz will join the team for Sundays game.

In his last 18 games he's hitting .270 with 5 HRs. It's time to bring him up.
