McMahon grounds out. Complete game for Keller on just 103 pitches. He was a beast in the 8th and 9th innings. He threw just one ball in those two innings.

Keller's ERA now 2.72. If he keeps this up, he could be an All-Star this year.

Has he shown enough to the Front Office over the past 4-5 months that they’re now convinced he’s finally arrived as a top-of-the-rotation pitcher and should be offered a long-term deal?

What I love about CGs is the confidence it gives the pitcher going forward. When an effective starter is pulled after 6, 7, or 8 innings, it sends the message that he couldn't be trusted to go further. So no matter how effective he was, he leaves with some doubt. But when he gets the CG, he knows he dominated start to finish and there was no need for any other pitcher. That's a good knowledge to have in his pocket for subsequent starts.

I hope so. But after committing money to Reynolds, will they? And if they offer, will he want to stay?
