I don't know how this will show up, but here are the first round picks. Probably a fairly normal success rate, especially when most of the bad picks were picked in the 20s or later.



Could do some hindsight and see who would have been a better pick, but hate those when someone says the Pirates should have picked Mike Trout instead of Tony Sanchez. Well no kidding. 20 other teams should have as well. If you want to say Zach Wheeler or Mike Leake, ok that makes sense. I think the guy people expected was Grant Green, who also stunk. I would also argue that Sanchez was a perfect example of the Pirates development failures. He was picked because he was a good defensive catcher and then when he was in AAA and the majors, he was terrible defensively.

I wrote that I dont expect any significantly different results from Cherington than the men before him. He's going to make some fantastic picks. All GMs do. He's going to make some terrible picks. Every GM does. Same holds true for Trades and FA Acquisitions. He's not Superman, and he's not an imbecile, either.

Andrew Jones son Drew Jones could be in play at #4 . Bloodlines seem to be working for the B Jays.



By the time he moves through the system it will be time to move on from Reynolds.



Chipper Jones had a whole bunch of boys they should be coming along soon.

Let's hope GM Ben has a better pulse on the players in the 2022 draft than Littlefield and Huntington did.

Lincoln was predicted by some to go earlier. Andrew Miller was the top guy and fell due to signability. Pretty easy to use hindsight on that draft. I was hoping Longoria would fall to them.
