Gamel grounds out. Up to Mitchell to keep it alive.

Mitchell grounds out to first. It’s just as well. Allen was on deck.
By the way, I hope we’re not seeing the best Hayes has to offer at the plate. He’s looking like an 8 or 9 hitter.

I'll give Shelton credit for this: He's created such a great culture, everyone is playing like they don't want to be traded. No one can hit, the bullpen has been shaky.
Remember way back when in April and May we wondered how the starting rotation would even make it to the end of the year? It's the strongest part of the team right now.

Maybe VanMeter can play on your 60 and older team
Only if he’s willing to be a substitute.
ok - just use him as a pinch runner
That would make him the only guy in the league who can run.
You have to do something to make him feel good about himself.

It just seems like yesterday we all talking about the Home Runs
and how good they were hitting. Lumber Company, etc. WHAT
Happened?

We’ll get him a trophy.

Power outage since the break. No Yogi, no Suwinski, Reynolds played only 2 games, Chavis is 0 for 10, and Castillo 0 for 4. Even Michael Perez (6 HR in 107 AB) is gone. Aside from Cruz, where will some new power come from?

Coming out of the All Star Break with one win in five games against opponents that are also in the same low position as the Pirates should push BC toward populating the roster with young players for the remaining two months.
The best thing this organization can do is to get a head start on next season. If the vets on the team can’t be traded, release them and let them make their own deals with other teams. Whatever would come back in trades would unlikely be good enough to help anytime in the future anyway.

BC asks for clarification, you mean all vets except for Yoshi and Van Meter don't you?
