Reynolds is on the paternity list.  :-[  VanMeter in the lineup.   >:( >:( >:(

Let me get this straight:  Madris was sent to Indy where they had him playing 1B.  So tonight, they play him in the OF and have VanMeter playing 1B.  Seriously?  Are they afraid Madris might screw-up a play and cost the Bucs a chance to win the pennant?

Doc, we're thinking the same thing. Why play Madris at 1B then bring him up to play RF?
If VanMeter and Tsutsugo are still here Wednesday, it will be a crime.

The real crime occurs every day that they are still here.

On other fronts ---

Stratton continues to make a strong case for being the last pitcher out of the pen.

Newman and Gamel playing well enough to attract some trade interest.

I like Quintana, but really have to hope that he pitches well tonight to create a bit more of excitement among teams that may be interested in him.

Team and manager playing badly enough overall to ensure that they come out on the losing end.

Castillo continues to wonder if they are saving him for mop-up pitching duty rather than risking a chance of injury.

In my youth I really looked forward to Pirate - Philly series that happened with such greater regularity.

Hoping that something happens in the next 5 days that warrants at least a smile.

I understand them giving Yoshi plenty of opportunity because of the contract, but I don't agree with it. He's shown after four months that he can't produce. They have to pay him whether he's here or not. Just release him and give the at bats to Madris. He can help in the future, Yoshi can't.

As for VanMeter, there's no way to justify him still being here. What more, by the end of April, did they need to see?
