Check this out:

Bolton in 1/3 of an inning has already thrown half as many pitches as DeSclafani has thrown in 7 full innings

In other encouraging news, Endy Rodriguez is 0 for his last 19 and currently hitting .212 at Indy.

And in his most recent start on Saturday, Quinn Priester lasted 1.2 innings giving up 6 walks, 4 hits and 8 runs.

Imagine if Hayes made a similar play at 3B. They'd still be talking about it and what a sensational fielder he is. But they haven't mentioned Marcano's play since that inning. There's an agenda to promote Hayes to us as a franchise player.
And I for one am not buying it!

With the exception of a great first month in the Majors, Hayes has been a bust. He is a very good defensive 3B, but he is no Brooks Robinson. For 2 and 1/3 years he has proven he is a low average no power hitter. The long term contract was a mistake.

They need to trade him for whatever they can get for him. I’m sure Nutting would appreciate the savings.

Let’s see what Malcolm Nunez can do

I think his contract makes him untradeable unless the Pirates agreed to pay many millions to the team. He's due 7 million for 2024-27, 8 million from 2028-29 and a 6 million buyout in 2030. That's a total of 50 million for a good field/no hit player.
