Damn shame. Was looking forward to seeing him healthy but I suspect that won't happen until he retires.

He already had the TJ surgery last month. Obviously the Pirates have given up on him. His body just doesn't seem capable of handling the stress of pitching.

Neveraskas has been designated roster now at 40.

There goes their inroad to the lucrative Lithuanian pitching market.

supposedly he is out of options. Bucs should be able to find someone more effective than him.

I hoped they would hang on to Burdi and that he could recover, but I guess I have to trust them on what is really a medical decision.

We could easily add 4 pitchers to the 40-man, because there are still guys to cut. It will be interesting to see the 20-21 pitchers they keep. Hope they add the guys I've mentioned: Kranick, Florez, Weiman and Ogle.

Burdi is a sad story. Great talent but managed to pitch only 16 games and 12 innings in 3 years. His injuries are structural. His body just can't take the strain of pitching. I wonder if he'll give it another try in 2022 after missing another year for another TJ surgery. He never even got a chance to see if his shoulder would hold up for a season after undergoing thoracic outlet surgery.

I think that Shdedman would more than agree with you on Neveraskas

The universal hate of signing a player from Lithuania is confusing to me. Why does it matter where the player is from? The Twins signed a player from Germany that is pretty good. The Pirates should not be doing that?
