Why on earth are they trying to steal? If that was a hit and run, why?

Gamel tries bunting on what I guess is a missed sign, Frazier caught stealing, Gamel strikes out on the next pitch.

I'm getting ill

Reynolds with a cue shot single to the vacated third base area....Polanco watches two meatballs center cut get called for strikes before striking out swining.

Guess we saw all we'll see from him for another month

Frazier should just stay put when he gets on the bases. He does not do well on steal attempts & those associated with hit and runs.

Pirates cannot afford to give up outs and base-runners.

Reminds me of the 2001 team. McClendon's first year as manager and he decided he would have a running team even though they didn't have the talent for it. They had the lowest total of base runners (hits+walks+HBP) and the worst OBP in MLB while also leading MLB in runners caught stealing. When you have the fewest base runners on base you don't need to have the most removed from the bases.
