Nogowski hitting like he was with the Cardinals. Need to separate these two in the lineup.

Should add Evans to that list. Evans/Nogowski/Polanco are reminding me of Tom/Gonzalez/Oliva

Park comes up 7 feet short of his first HR.

Game 1 to the Reds.

Crowe had looked to be turning a corner, then this fiasco of a bullpen killer.

Great job by the bullpen. Once again, Pirates just couldn't sustain offensive effort, but never quit. I like this about this team regardless of the blemishes. Guess have to tip my cap to Shelton for that aspect.

I can't give a team credit for not doing something that's inexcusable. No team should ever quit and when it happens it is big news. And in the case of the Pirates, most of the roster is guys grateful for the chance to play in MLB and trying to impress so they stay there. Even Reynolds is trying to bounce back from a poor mini 2020 season. There is no one on the roster who can afford to "rest on his laurels" and just phone it in. I just can't imagine that the guys on this roster would be quitting if it weren't for Shelton.

Only one man in the organization mailed it in, and that's Ben Cherington. The players are doing the best that they're capable of.

Can't believe anyone thinks they know BC after a year and half. I'm impatient but also a realist. There are lots of good prospects the question remains can he develop them.

What's there NOT to know?  We all knew this before the season began.  They were picked last for a reason.  You're seeing the reason.

1973: still a kid, threw a dominating two-hitter at the Pirates.

He was a righthanded version of Bob Veale:  huge man, hard throwing, just wild enough to make every hitter fear for his life.

They were picked last due to the actions of your boy Neal
