Peters threw 80 pitches in 5 innings, Mears now approaching 30...but let's leave HIM in.



Bucs can't turn the DP, another run scores, it's 6-3

This game is a microcosm of the ineptitude of Shelton. There was no reason to at least let Peters go out there to start the 6th, but even less reason to watch Mears just butcher this inning.

A game well in hand, and Shelton lets it get out of hand. He needed to yank Mears after the first two runs scored, instead of trying to milk an inning out of the guy. He could have done the same effing thing if he had left Peters in, and that's what is so maddening about that inning.
