I read where Quinn Priester was selected for the Futures Game today. That's a good sign.
Shane Baz was also selected, alas, he's not with us any longer.

Mason Martin with 2 more homers tonight giving him 15 this season. Also Mitch Keller pitched 5 scoreless tonight with no walks. Hope he keeps that up!

Minor League thoughts.
Cal Mitchell AA OF, just keeps getting better and growing as he moves up levels. And " Nobody" ever mentions him.
Mason Martin is crushing the ball.
Oneil Cruz on the DL again , the guy is always hurt it seems .I would trade him, in a package sell high. Yep he will disappoint , think Polanco . Or more like Alan Henson
Anyone remember Neal Heaton ? :-[ His name popped up in my brain when i was mowing the lawn.

Martin hit his 17th home run tonight. I hope his power translates to the Big Leagues. His bat would look good in the middle of the lineup.

Will Craig left AAA so 1B is open for Mason at Indy. I think BC will let Mason get "Mad Dog" for another month before promotion.

Nick Gonzales is struggling right now at Greensboro. He had an 0-5 night last evening and he is in a 7-48 slump with a ton of strikeouts. I was hoping he would jump to Altoona later this season, but so far I doubt he will be promoted.

got to hope he is talented and will get through this soon. In some ways it is probably good that new professionals struggle earlier so that they can adjust.

He was hitting .294 before his injury. He was out 5 weeks and has hit .175 since. The change is so drastic that it seems it must be related to the extended layoff and/or lingering effects of the finger fracture.

You make a good point. I am sure he is projected to be the future second baseman so I hope this is just one of those times that he struggles in his development.

Can anyone give me some history on Fab Macias. He is now playing at Indy, and was promoted from high A a couple weeks ago. He was doing well while at Greensboro, and is holding his own at Indy. Is he someone that we should keep an eye on? Not much has been written on him, and could he be a future outfield depth?
