Some Pirate facts for the 2022 Season.

Including Surg's contribution to the Bob Nutting Fund,

attendance has dropped from an average of 18,412 in 2019, to

15,527 this season. This does not include the last three games.

Franchise record 1,492 strikeouts

Team was shutout 15 times

Cruz led NL shortstops with 17 errors despite being only 12th in innings played.



Excluding the mini 60-game 2020 season, the team leading 6 wins by De Jong and Crowe are the lowest figure to lead the team since 1898 when they were the Pittsburgh Alleghenys. That team went 23-113-2 and were led by Billy Gumbert with 4 wins. Maybe that team lost some good athletes to the Spanish-American War instead of losing them to Nutting's wallet. ;)



The Pirates had the worst OBP in the NL (.294). They had the lowest total of hits, walks and HBPs. And they compounded that problem by having the NL's 3rd highest number of caught stealings (32).
