The best singer on the team -- Steven Brault.  He went the distance in a 5-1 win over the Cardinals 9/17/20.

A nice trip down memory lane....Here is video proof of Brault's rare feat.

Both become free agents at season’s end. I’d be okay resigning Chavis, but just as a bench player. I’d have no interest in resigning Allen.

both of them received ample opportunity to grow beyond their flaws. They never did. I feel Chavis is just a slightly more experienced version of Diego Castillo, with slightly better numbers over 150 more AB's

Chavis will probably hook on somewhere where they need a righty bench bat. I think Allen will at best get a minor league contract offer somewhere with an invite to ST. But let's face it, Billy Hamilton can't keep a job, and Allen is no Billy Hamilton. If your game is a leg game, an OBP of less than .300 will never cut it.

First off, I'm not sad they cut Chavis lose. I do like his all-in don't take any hostages attitude but he needs to back that up with his hitting, especially power on a consistent basis. As for the Castillo-Chavis comparison, I don't think either of them should be in the Pirates' future. Castillo was a ST flash in the pan who made the Opening Day lineup but couldn't hold onto the roster spot the entire season.

I would just as soon give some of the young talent waiting in the wings, and there are too many to name. BC will have to put his thinking cap on and see what his development staff says about the kids.

The reason I’d be okay with Chavis as only a bench player is because I think that role is best served by a veteran, one who would likely be more patient in a pinch hitting role. Also, I’d rather have a younger player playing everyday in Indy than sitting on the bench in Pittsburgh, getting a handful of at bats each week.

Heineman is back. Collins to IL with "non-covid illness." It continues to amaze me that whenever the Pirates need a roster spot, someone always ends up making room by going on the IL. What a coincidence.
