The Phillies have announced that Jim Gott will fill their bullpen coach opening. As Todd Zolecki of MLB.com notes, the 58-year-old Gott served as the pitching coach for the Angels from 2010-2012, and has spent the past five seasons as the Angels’ minor league pitching coordinator. Gott pitched in the major leagues from 1982-1995 and had a lifetime 3.87 ERA, notching 837 strikeouts against 466 walks.
Gott hit 2 home runs for SF on 5/12/85.

He coached Dennis Quaid for the movie "The Rookie."

Zach Von Rosenberg was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week. He is punting for LSU. He punted five times with a 49.2 average.

He never made it above Single A, but he was a draft pick they gave $1.2 million to out of high school. I always followed him because of that. Maybe he will make the NFL? He is a 27 year old freshman at LSU.

Wasn't Austin Meadows taken with the compensatory pick given to the Pirates for failing to sign Appel? That's fantastic.

Newly acquired LHP Sam Moll is now on the departed list. They waived him 3 days after they got him on waivers. Seattle took him. There goes the pennant!
