I hope you did not take Mr.Man to this one.  He would be pissed.   ;D

Yes, Mister Man had to miss school with a headache  ;) ;) ;). He made $30 today for helping clean at the VFW before we headed out to the game.
Good for him. Glad you are teaching him a positive work ethic
Hopefully his headache is gone in time for school tomorrow :D ;D

impression of Hill.He has looked decent in previous games but

this is my take on him. After the first time thru the lineup, a good

patient hitter can adjust to his curve ball. When the Pirates picked

him up I wasn't overly enthused. I think you remember Jamie

Moyer who pitched well into his 40's. Toward the end of his career,

his fastball wouldn't make you blink if it hit you between the eyes.

Hill reminds me a lot of Moyer. If we can get 4-5 decent innings out of him, we should be thankful.
I see it the same way, WD2. That slow looping curve is impressive to see, but that's all he's got. Batters don't have to wary of a fastball so they can wait for that curve to get over the plate. Even so, it's an effective pitch but there are going to be just too many times when it gets him in trouble.

I feel that Shelton knows going in the most he'll get is 5-6 innings.

Right now, they probably have to keep using him like they are, an opener plus. Had it not been for injuries, I really think he was a candidate to get dealt at the deadline if at all possible, just to dump the remaining part of his salary. Now, as long as he's healthy, he's here for the season. They have no choice but to use him.

I also feel Shelton, regardless of who the opposing starting pitcher is, must field his best defensive team when Hill is on the mound.

Regarding the best defensive team, I certainly agree

Last year 13 of his 26 starts lasted less than 5 innings. Only 7 went beyond 5 innings. In 2021 he averaged 5 innings per start with 9 of 31 starts lasting more than 5 innings. 5 innings is about his limit.

Supposedly Hill and Shelton had some words in the dugout

after he was taken out.

Hill always looks pissed off. I hadn't read anything about that, or why Shelton took him out. I thought Hill wanted taken out. How many pitches did he throw in the 4th?
