Bucs go in order yet again in the 9th, drop their record to 1-4. The boys are getting a head start on their traditional August swoon.

Maybe Shelton will get fired after the Yankees sweep them.

is Matt Hague as hitting coach making a difference yet?

Starting to think the Pirate hitting problems were not all Haines fault.

Just getting the " if we only hadn't gone on that losing streak that we gave a lot of wins away" excuse out of the way early.

I said it all spring, they are doing the exact same thing, taking tons of pitches especially meatballs trying to drive up pitch counts. They go to bat with 2 strikes on them already. Seems if someone swings at first or second pitch and makes an out, they go back to the old ways next at bat

At DK Sports, Dejan always insisted that Haines was hired to put Cherington's hitting theories into practice, (i.e., a priority on taking pitches to drive up pitch counts) and that if Haines was fired as a scapegoat, his replacement would be basically the same as long as Cherington is in charge. Maybe Dejan was right.
