The fact we haven't heard anything about Jones makes me believe he's headed for TJ. I think Skenes will be great, but he won't be giving them 200+ innings. Keller might. Heaney hasn't impressed me at all. Falter will be serviceable, he'll have the good outing, but also the outing he gives up 4 runs out of the chute, goes 6 IP, but the team never rallies.

I don't like having Pham, Cutch, and Frazier all on the team. Frazier is the most annoying of them all, simply because they already have plenty of Fraziers in the system, guys who can play a lot of spots but that's all they have going for them. We saw the best of Frazier when he was traded, he's been downhill ever since.

The team still seems to be the same Andy Haines bunch, I've mentioned it before in the ST thread. Lot of pitches taken, lot of them right down the middle, having to basically go to bat with 2 strikes on you already. Lot of men LOB. Lot of strikeouts. Lot of guys caught stealing. Not a lot of pop shown. Poor defensively.

I think this is the season most everyone gets their wish, and Shelton and BC are gone.

Man, do I hope I'm wrong.

As usual, the Pirates' strategy is based on hope. Other than Reynolds and Skenes, they hope the rest will either perform better than they have in the past or return to a level at which they haven't performed recently. Anything's possible but it seems unlikely that enough will provide the hoped for performance to make the team substantially better.

I run a Prediction contest on a Steeler message board. Been doing it for 7 seasons. I get about 50-60 players. For 7 straight years 0ne guy predicts 17-0. The year Steelers started 11-0 he thought he was on to something.

I’m way more realistic. I didn’t get ridiculous and call for an undefeated season!
