Nicolas managed to throw only 4 of his 13 pitches in the strike zone (two pitches off the plate were put in play for outs) and was able to get three outs. Maybe we don’t have the dumbest hitters after all.

If Hayes isn’t hitting because of his back then he needs to go on the IL until he’s better. He’s become completely insignificant as a hitter.
