That was funny, Baty made a great play while blowing a bubble.

Another three up, three down inning for Jones. 59 pitches, 50 strikes. He’s genuinely brilliant so far. 1-0 Bucs into the 6th.

59 pitches thru 5 innings. Only 9 are not strikes. Some of those "strikes" are well out of the strike zone but getting swings and misses on them because batters are afraid to let pitches go by since he usually throws strikes.

Reed Garrett replaces Quintana. He pitched well, too.

Garrett strikes out the side. Can we get Quintana back? 1-0 Bucs, bottom of 6th.

So jones is lifted at 59 pitches. Why? What is the plan for him? He has yet to throw 90 pitches in a game so it's not as if he's overworked. What about his next start? Will they still be regressing him to fewer pitches?

Ortiz replaces Jones. I guess 59 pitches is too many even though nearly every high school pitcher around the country who started a game today threw better than 90 pitches.

Not sure why Jones is done. 59 pitches 50 strikes.

No disrespect to Ortiz, I hope he pitches great tonight, but the Mets have to be thrilled that Jones was removed.
