The bad news is that Oviedo walks the first batter in the 4th. The worst news is that balls he’s thrown are only missing the strike zone by a couple of feet.

A Peguero error puts runners at first and second. Goldschmidt strikes out. Is his wife playing in his place? So unlike him.

After a walk to load the bases with two outs, Oviedo is mercifully lifted for Borucki. Had Oviedo stayed in, the game would’ve likely been suspended around 10 o’clock tonight in about the seventh inning.

With one pitch, Borucki allows two runs on a single. 5-3 Cards.

Finally out of the inning. If baseball kept a stat that tracked the amount of time on offense, the Cardinals would have been up for about 48 minutes to the Bucs five by now.

Borucki works around a lead-off single. Still 5-3 Cards after five.

McCutchen singles with one out. Find a way to get him home.

Andujar with his second hit of the day. Cutch at second. Peguero due up. Can he do it again?

Peggy proves he’s not perfect. Bucs strand two. Still 5-3 Cardinals midway through six.
