Max Kranick made a rehab start for Bradenton tonight. He pitched 3 innings, gave up two hits and struck out a pair. The Pirates could use him before this season ends, due to injuries and so so results from their starting pitchers. Maybe he and Bido could pitch a bullpen game, and turn the final inning over to Bednar.

Gonzales has hit .281 since his return to Indy. With Cruz out, this would have been a good season to take a long look at Peguero at SS and Gonzales at 2B. I just don't see Williams having a future with the Pirates. But he plays SS almost every day while Peguero occasionally gets a start at SS but usually plays 2B or sits when Bae plays 2B. So in the event that Cruz's mobility is affected next season, does that mean another season of Williams at SS and Peguero at 2B? And where does that leave Gonzales? Gonzalez struggled with the Bucs hitting .216. But it's not as if they were in a pennant chase, and Williams hasn't even sniffed .216.
Peguero was a SS in the minors and Gonzales was a #1 draft pick (7th overall). But this organization that's supposed to be developing its young talent makes them both take a backseat to Williams, who has 26 starts at SS to Peguero's 14 while Peguero has another 18 starts at 2B while Gonzales is in AAA. And Williams doesn't hit and his defensive metrics are nothing special.

Whoever was requesting the return of Triolo, who got your wish.
Cutch was placed on the 10 day DL which enabled them to bring him
back up. However, he can't play short or second. I don't see the purpose unless
it is for giving Hayes his day off.

Peguero should be given a chance at 1b next season when Cruz goes back to short. Yeah he plays ss/2nd but maybe the power is for real and he is 6`2 and not 5`10 . Gonzales /Glenn /Triolo and Termarr can fill in the rest.

Jesus H Christopher, we can't make everyone move to first base.
