This is a game I would have liked to watch but the Mlb blackout rules suck. I heard on local radio that Des Moines is blacked out for twenty percent of the whole Mlb.

Now that was a starting pitching performance! Holy Musgrove!

Solid win tonight. Great pitching and some extra-base hitting on display. The Cards are not as good as they will be later--- Molina, Dejong, Wainwright, Martinez, Kelley, and Reyes are all on the DL. We need to take advantage.



After watching the games this week I am on board about Polanco. Clint needs to "unplug" him like he did with Cutch a few years back. Ride Meadows while he is hot. I know he will cool down at some point, but my eyes tell me he can play. My eyes also see Polanco looks lost.



P.S. Moran was 0-4 but smoked the ball all over the field, and one out of the park.

This team has a lot of issues, of course, but the bottom line is that through 50 games the Pirates are currently in playoff position.



If you had told me back in March that would be the case I would have never believed you in a million years.



Let's hope we can say the same thing after the next 50 games.

Yep, Cubs, Cards, Brewers, Twins, White Sox, Royals all blacked out here. Most places don't carry all those RSNs. 68 of the Pirates 162 games, or 42%, are blacked out in Iowa.

Man was Musgrove good last night. He went 7 innings and only threw 67 pitches which is about as efficient as you can get. The rotation really needed a shot in the arm and man did they get it with Musgrove. I love his demeanor on the mound as well. The guy pitches with a little bit of an edge and has an attitude when he pitches which is something I like a lot. He has World Series experience and I think can really add a lot to this team and rotation. Overall, great start to this series with the Cards. The Pirates really needed to right the ship after that very dissapointng 2-5 stretch the last week against the Padres and Reds. It should be interesting to see what the Pirates do with Marte returning today. No way you can send Meadows down for him. So we shall see what move they make later today.

I know Nova has the big contract but how long can the Pirates continue to stick with him when you have guys like Kingham and when Tyler Glasnow that can take his place in the rotation. I think the leash with Nova needs to start being a lot shorter moving forward it almost has to be.

Lol Tyler Glasnow isn't anywhere near able to replace anyone in the rotation  ;D.   Kingham is in.  He got called up.   I guess we will find out what injury Nova has
