Hopefully it's just nerves or something.  *Highly doubtful lol*

You cannot trust anything you read without confirming with your own eyes.  Stat sheets sometimes lie, but not often.   Again should have trusted the stat sheets instead of the bloggers.
What have you seen to to say it's easy to see he is not a good shortstop? I've seen him make all the routine plays, make a couple of nice plays in the hole, and he's handled all 38 chances he's had without an error.

Right?!?! Predictably, every time the Pirates go on a losing streak, this board will find a million things to complain about. Some will be legit. Some dubious. Some will be just an open opportunity to complain about stupid things (the announcers). Then there will the the absurd. Complaining about Tuckers defense would definitely fall into the latter.

I compared his defense stats to Gonzalez on Baseball Reference (certainly small sample size) and in one measure Tucker has a lot of negative runs allowed and Gonzalez is plus 1. I don't see how this comes about as Tucker has more chances per game. But everything I've seen is that Tucker is solid on defense.

His range looks merceresque to me, thus far.  He should have 2 errors (definitely 1), but they weren't charged.

We will have to see how it plays out.  I don't see a plus defensive shortstop so far.   Gonzalez was shaky, but then really started flashing the glove to show the defensive ability.  Perhaps Tucker will do the same defensively?

He has some nice tools for sure.

I'll make sure to ask your opinion on my opinion, next time I offer my own 3 posts per week.  So as not to muddle the board with absurd complaints.

The only thing more predictable than fans complaining about the team during an 8 game skid, is the inevitable apologists complaining about the fans, who have nothing to do with the 8 game skid. Happens every time. Death, taxes, and secret FO lovers criticizing fans for complaining.

According to Huntington it’s the fans fault for not coming out enough which is why they won’t spend enough money on players because attendance is so low. So I guess it’s the fans fault

for this 8 game losing streak as well lol.

Predictable like calling for some levity amongst and wave of negativity and inevitably being called an apologist.

This rabbit's hole isn't worth going down. All of us sharing the same perspective would make for an epically terrible message board. You, dmetz, are one of my favorite posters because we sometimes agree and sometimes disagree. Nevertheless, you generally support your arguments well and are thought out.

As for me, I'm an optimist in life and that leads over toward baseball. Life's too short to spend it pissed all of the time. I deal with death all of the time and no one is ever happy in their deathbed that they spent time mad or pessimistic.

I agree with much of the reasoning (in this thread and on the board) for being frustrated right now. Cole Tucker isn't one of those reasons. Your opinion was that he is not good. I disagreed. This board needs both of us. I call it like I see it.
