I would agree, but then I've never been a Homer Bailey fan. With practically every contending team saying they plan to add pitching, I don't see anyone on the trade market they can realistically get and anyone they could get will cost a fortune. I would expect Keller to be called up as their pitching addition. He has to be as good as anyone they can get on the open market and won't cost any decent prospects.

Pirates are 50-32 in July beginning in 2016. .610 ball in half a season of games. Terrible thing for a mediocre team.

If only they could limit the season to July every year. Including today's loss they are 50-33 in July since 2016. In those years you mentioned (2016-2019) they are 229-231 in months not named July.

Cubs catcher out with injury - they expect him back at the end of the 10 day period, but as a safeguard in that period they traded for a backup catcher. Interesting approach to a shortage, compared to how Pittsburgh handled the outfield situation last year or the pitcher situation any year.
