Good things:

Luis Escobar has looked great in his switch to relief, he could be a future back end bullpen guy.

Bradenton also has four interesting rotation prospects in Bolton, Shortridge, Kranick and Robles. Future depth.

Sanchez and Castro are both looking very good in their second tour of low-A. They were both very young for the league last year in their first year of full season ball.

Overall, they are going to have a load assets available again at the trade deadline if they are in position to add.

Will Craig is doing what he needs to do to make the jump, if Bell were to go down at some point, it will be intriguing to see how he performs at the MLB level.

Bad.

Altoona.

Keller with a good start tonight. Six innings, 2 runs , 6 strikeouts and 6 hits. Seems like he is back in the groove.

Craig hit his 8th home run tonight. He now has 21rbi. If he continues like he has this season, he may drive in 100 rbi again this season.

nice that he is showing power. If he can put it all together to add power to the line up it would be a big step forward.

Right now the Bucs are tied for 28th in homers and runs (23 and 97 in 28 games)

With his stats at AA last year and so far this year he appears to be a run producer. I don’t care if he hits .270 and knocks in a ton of runs. That would be great!

Unfortunately Craig is behind the only player on the Pirates roster that is producing.

I remember how everyone was dismissing Craig after about a bad first six months in the minors.

Not a strong night for Keller. Only 3 innings, 4 hits and three runs. Don’t think he is ready to make the jump to Pittsburgh.
