Miller is a bit of an enigma, and I bet he will have some great games — and some stinkers like today.  But this is the ideal year to see if he can develop and put it all together.
You mean Keller? The hitless innings was nice but probably aided by the fact that a lot of batters weren't seeing strikes to hit.
How did Polanco make out?
____

Polanco is batting .438 and leads the team in HR's and RBI's!

He's always been streaky. I hope he can carry that into the season and make it last awhile.

If we had a few more guys like Polanco and a few less LMG's, I would actually have some hope for this team.

Maybe someone should be making some side bets on Polanco. Maybe we could come up with some categories. What do you think, doc?

How about these:

1.  Will Polanco miss games due to an injury before he has 10 hits?

2.  Will his injury be to an arm or a leg?

3.  Will he have more injuries than HRs?

4.  Which will be greater, his baserunning blunders or his injuries, before he's traded/released?

How about:

1. Will Polanco lead the team in HR's.

2. Will Polanco lead the team in RBI's.

3. Will Polanco bat .250.

4. Will Polanco be salary dumped at the trade deadline.

Guess you didn't happen to notice the Pirates hung 4 runs on him in 4 innings.

Yeah, he dominated.

I certainly didn't say he dominated, I said he made more than a few of our hitters look silly, and he did. 7 K's in 4 innings and some of the swings and misses by the Bucs were awful.
Ah, but you certainly were making that your point following all the Keller bashing, so don't try and balance out the comment now. You certainly didn't go out of your way to mention that some of the Bucs bats made Glasnow look pretty freaking pedestrian either.
Ok, you win. Thank you for telling me what point I was making.

I thought Glasnow looked pretty good overall, at least compared to what he looked like when he was pitching for us. He seems a lot more comfortable on a major league mound now, and his control was a lot better, especially of his off-speed stuff. It should be interesting to see what his results are this year. I'll still root for him to succeed (except when he pitches against us), although that's at least partly just so his success can remind management of how bad a trade that really was. Hopefully, when Cherington adds players, its for active talent and not past talent and name value.
