The sheer dejection in their voices was beautiful. I'm certain they reflect every Cardinals fans thoughts, "how did this happen?"
I had the away feed on my fire stick to give myself a break from Brown. To listen to the Cards announcers was priceless
You could hear a pin drop in their booth for several minutes after the HR.

I'm rewatching the game as my kid is at trampoline park. Rick Ankiel said about the Pirates, "they're so used to losing when they fall behind they just give up at bats." Needless to say Rick Ankiel is not my favorite. I find it interesting a former player would accuse his brethren of such a thing. If you make an accusation like that you best have the guts to call those players out. Never seen any quit in this team. Frustration yes. The fact they don't quit is what keeps me watching.

Ankiel needs to understand his words Go beyond the Cardinal nation.

Much a do about nothing on Baez's part. He's a rental. Lindor is the one that's going to suffer, but he's obviously not his own man for letting Baez influence him like that. Maybe the fan base will give him a pass at some point because of that, maybe not. The management didn't waste any time, and made no equivocations about it.

I hate fans that boo their team. That's why we have the internet to b*tch about them. It was just like the Polanco thing, I would never boo my team, or any player, even if I thought they were dogging it. Back in the olden days, before the internet, there was talk radio, a lot more of it to vent.

Booing leads to someone trying to go further IMHO, and that's how batteries get tossed at Dave Parker, and the other various projectile launchings at officials and players.

But that's me. Booing has been part of sports since technology has had the ability to broadcast and record the sounds of the game. We can ask Doc if there was booing before that. Athletes aren't the only big money entertainers that get booed. Musicians, actors, performers of all sorts do. When you play the stage, that comes with the territory.

Baez probably just cost himself a lot of money. Not that he isn't going to still get a lot of money anyhow, so not like he's going to be playing a flute with a hat. But he can cross 3 teams off the list of potential suitors: Both NY teams and Boston. They all know he's too thin skinned to play in their markets. That's three biggies to take out of a bidding war for his services.

Yes. It was necessary to develop some sort of communication system when we hunted the dinosaurs.
