Shelton addressed that in his post game interview. He said with the 35 minute inning and Will sitting in the cold he was concerned that he might stiffen up and he would have hated himself if he'd sent him back out for another inning and something happened.

Very surprised this team found a way to win 60 games this season. It just goes to show you how bad you have to be to be historically bad and lose something like 115-120 games. This Pirates team was pretty bad throughout the entire year and yet still found a way to win 60 games.
