Cherington’s foundational work through the past couple of years is beginning to pay off at about the time one would expect as the first group of youngsters are now here. I’m starting to get excited by what lies ahead.

Yes, but I'm still concerned about the lack of SP. Other than Contreras there aren't any pitching prospects ready. Thompson has looked good but I hope it's not a Trevor Williams type of 1 year only effectiveness. Keller can't be counted on. I don't know if Yajure is anything special. (We can hope.) Maybe Cody Bolton at Indy has potential.

I agree that, as of today, that’s a legit concern. The best potential seems to be further down in the pipeline. Maybe one of two of them make a big jump. There’s also the possibility of trading off young position players for pitching as I think you suggested a couple of days ago. I trust BC will do the job. His plan is going as planned so far.

1. I am thrilled with this wave of prospects and the way they have played, and the energy / enthusiasm they have injected into the organization and fans.

2. I believe strongly that Cruz should be up here. To me it's past the point of being ridiculous that he's not. I feel like they're just messing with him at this point. Just bring the guy up and put him at SS every night and leave him alone. It's almost like "let's bring up every other prospect we have in Indy and also in Altoona, and just leave Cruz down there for the summer."

3. I agree totally on SP. That's the big concern. We need a LOT more of it and at a more elite level, and I don't know where it's going to come from.

Bullpen well rested, day off tomorrow, had it set up exactly how he wanted.

Called putting the nail in the coffin. Good move on this one.

Marcano has looked good no matter where they play him! Funny, don't see anyone complaining about Frazier any more.

I never thought I would say this in 2022- Could we be buyers?

Another great day at the park. I love the run we're on, but I won't get overly enthusiastic like the guy on the post game show. He's way ahead of himself talking about climbing back into the WC race. That's so far off to worry about right now. Even if they went on some sort of crazy run, like pop off 15 in a row, and were sitting in a WC spot, it means nothing in June.

I just want to see them keep playing competitively, and continue to be confident they have the ability to do so every night.

It's good when it works. But it's risky (and unnecessary) to fix what ain't broke and just hope the relievers have as good a day as the SP they replaced. It worked today but there have been a few games where Shelton pulled an effective SP and the BP failed.
