The Pirates have used more players and more rookies than any other team in the majors this season.

What's astounding is that no one, not a single guy, has shown they want to be a player and hold down a major league job. I'm still blown away that Castillo and Suwinski are still in the minors. They had their struggles, but they looked to be keepers. They showed something.

But somehow, these guys who have shown nothing, Madris-JVM-Padlo continue to get AB's. Welll, not JVM lately. I wonder what he did to get in the doghouse

Showing power, speed, good defense and his average is moving upward.

Added plus is he can switch hit.

It’s early but he maybe a better option at 3B if Hayes does not show more power and offense.

Apt comparison.  I just hope he’s a smarter baseball player than Marte was.

So far the smarts still need some developing. Lol

Gamel dives for a looper and turns it into a triple.

6-2 now

this all happens about positive article on Banuelos in the newspaper.  I guess Shelton read it.

Double and an error I'm guessing.

I know it's the in vogue thing in MLB, but I really hate the stuff these guys do like the shooter thing Marcano did....your team is still down by 3 effing runs.

It's the equivalent of some guy doing a crazy touchdown dance with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter and your team down by 40

Bucs are Padlo's 4th team since 2021. In a very SSS he's hit .119 in MLB. However, he achieved overwhelming mediocrity in the minors hitting .250 in AA and .249 in AAA. Naturally, that made him pure gold to BC and the Pirates acquired him and immediately inserted him as their #5 batter. After being Oh-fer as a Pirate, today he's fallen to 7th in the order. If he can somehow get a hit he'll probably bat cleanup next game. If not leadoff a la Vogelbach.

Delay has become one of my favorite Bucs. He was on the taxi squad, which is MLB purgatory. Not worth developing with steady PT in the minors but always on site to catch in an emergency before a "real" replacement can be found. But when given a chance, he's turned out to be strong behind the plate and with a .253 BA, he's as steady as anyone on the roster getting hits. Doesn't have the sexy velo but has a nice line drive stroke that drops hits in front of the OFers.
