Note - The reason Crowe is not throwing strikes and walking folks when he shouldn't be putting runners on base is because if he puts his pitches anywhere near the plate on a regular basis he gets torched, as happened this past weekend against the Cards.
Regardless, good to see another win on the season, particularly when some defensive lapses in the infield could have cost them the lead.
Also, Cincinnati should be looking at ways to retool their park to decrease the number of really cheap home runs, such as Castro's 3 run high fly ball last night.

This is the same Crowe who was an ineffective starter last year (ERA 5.48). Evaluating relievers is difficult because they pitch so briefly in each game. The best relievers pitch consistently well in their short outings. For others, you never know what you'll get. Crowe got off to a great start this season with 6 scoreless appearances covering 13.1 innings. But since his 7th appearance in April he has seemed as likely to give up runs as not, with a 4.47 ERA since then. Over that period, he has allowed 84 runners (52 hits including 6 HRs, 30 walks, 2 HBPs) in 58.1 IP. That's a lot of runners for a reliever to be putting on base. We saw last year when he started that Crowe doesn't fool hitters very long. As a reliever, his outings of 1-2 innings save him from getting hit as hard as he did as a starter but too often he doesn't even make it thru those few innings unscathed.
