Wow! I can see Allen but not Chavis. I expect him to be picked

up rather quickly
Yeah, I was very surprised. Chavis could have been a useful utility player next year. Obviously, they were not going to go thru arbitration with him next year. The time still isn't right to spend money.  ;)

I get what you're saying, but in this offseason we sign someone with Chavis's numbers but a different face and name, I doubt anyone here will be cheering that we're finally spending money.  I'm guessing we'd all be in for snarky "dumpster diving" remarks.

I like him though.  Not as a full time 1B but that's a different story. I hope he clears.

I liked Chavis, but like many Pirate players, he did not have good stats. Struck out over 30% of the time and not walking much. Allen demonstrated that he was offensively challenged.

BC is also continuing his quest to make the Pirates the Yankees light.

Contreras

Yajure

Smith (now injured)

Castillo

Park

Banuelos

Allen (now released)

Andujar

Escotto (minor league SS)

7 of the players on the 40 man roster.

There is a Yankee connection with the Pirates. Maybe they will throw money at Judge this offseason. LOL!

It would be considerably amusing to compare the offers Judge receives from other clubs to the one the Pirates would place on the table.

I wonder? Food for thought. How would Shelton do if he managed the Yankees and how would Boone do if he managed the Pirates.

IDK what their records would be, but with all the resting Shelty does, Judge would be lucky to hit 32, let alone 62

There very well would be insurrection with the Yankees. The players would've stopped listening to him months ago. They may have even taken over making out the daily line-ups. They'd never have close to the amount of wins they have now if they didn't.

I have no doubt the Pirates would have more wins, and the players be further along in their development, if Bob Boone were the manager.

Judge may very well get an offer per year that will be close to what the entire Pirates roster will be paid

IF somehow the Yankees are eliminated early, Boone

could be available
