Just tuned in to see the A's guy thrown out at 2nd. Seems Castro is the only one who showed up today.

Seeing how the game is going on GameDay instead of on TV.
It appears that Ortiz has been in trouble the entire time he has been on the mound, but the A's have not scored since the first.
Bucs down 7-3 going into the bottom of the 6th. This game is still winnable.

Time for Santana to make a statement.
Bases loaded, 1 out, and team down by 5.

Wrong statement.
Grounds into double play.

Terrible decision there by Santana swinging at the 1st pitch. The A’s pitcher just walked 3 out of the last 4 guys and couldn’t throw a strike to save his life and Santana swings at the 1st pitch and pretty much ends any chance the Pirates did have of coming back and still winning this game today.

Lousy series.
Bucs had opportunities to crawl back into the game, but nearly all fell short.
Keller, Contreras, Z, and even Ortiz, had disappointing pitching performances. Contreras's performance was actually worse than DeJong's, which is quite unbelievable.
Little timely hitting.
Oh well, 4-2 on the current homestand. Time to get ready for one of those NY teams --- Muck em up!

Pitching seems to have taken a nosedive. Gotta blame
someone- How about Oscar?

Pretty scary thought when Hill may be your 2nd most dependable starter.
Don't know what was wrong with Contreras today, but someone with his stuff shouldn't get banged around as badly as he did while recording only 1 out on 40 pitches or so.

Contreras has been struggling for a while. Prior to today, his ERA for his last 5 starts was 6.49 with 19 ERs, 30 hits and 7 HRs in 26.1 innings. He was moved to the BP to work on things but put back in the rotation when Velasquez was hurt. Adding today's stats into that mess, his ERA for his latest 6 starts is 8.77 with 26 ERs, 36 hits and 7 HRs in 26.2 innings.
