Skenes tried the third try on the runner, balks him to second base

Another dumb move by Shelton tonight. He's sitting Tellez supposedly because of "reverse splits". Reverse my ass, the Pirates haven't touched Pallante. He should have Tellez in there with the mitt on the right hand, if he's in there, the runner was picked off on the second attempt.
Tellez is more useful at the bag with a guy who has a move to first.
Just plain stupidity on Shelton's part, and as I type this, base hit and the Cards up 1-0

It's an unearned run, but Skenes with the balk didn't help his cause either

Skenes has just pretty much given back all lthat efficiency he built up with this past inning. I believe it was a 25 pitch inning

Yorke gets his first MLB strikeout in the books. Pallante is schooling skenes right now. Season high 7 K's for Pallante, and Brown is really blasting them for it, as well as the season. This guy is not a strikeout pitcher, and they're making it easy on him.

Cook grounds out.
Nothing doing for the Pirates in the 5th.

As is customary, as the Pirates announcers just keep going on and on and on and on with superlatives (we get it already) 0-2 pitch to a schlub and he singles to center

the narrative is just getting so annoying. You've done this routine 100 times already. "Most polished pitcher I've ever seen for his age"
this time, he induces an inning ending double play.
Maybe I just get tired of hearing how great someone is, and I love Greg Brown, but when he gets into his gushing, fawning mode, it's sickening.

Skenes blowing another game. He hasn't struck out every batter.
