Joey Bart is my current favorite Pirate until he is gone. Not like the past when your favorite player could be on the team his entire career.
Since the start of free agency, the only Pirate who has spent his entire career with the organization for 10 or more years has been Willie Stargell. It’s shaping up like he’ll be the last.

Agree doc, Bart continues to impress. I think he was under a lot of pressure when
he was drafted. I think it was in the second round. He was touted as the next Buster Posey.
That expectation would be tough on most players. He was under no pressure coming to Pittsburgh.
He was the 2nd overall pick of that draft.

Wow, didn't realize that and Stargell was a favorite of mine.

A shout out to Alika Williams for doubling and scoring the Bucs third run. It’s now 10-3 headed to the 9th.

Beeks gets three outs on nine pitches in the 9th. Was he that efficient or are the Mariners trying not to be late for their plane?

Also a shout out to Michael A. who made a fine running catch in left center. Too bad there
there weren't too many left to see it

Not to be outdone, the Bucs go down on eight pitches in the home half. Bucs drop the finale, but win the series. It’s off to Texas.

Those six Mariners players who I mentioned upthread with a last name starting with the letter “R” had 25 at bats, managed 10 hits, scored eight runs, drove in seven, producing one double and two HRs for a total of 17 bases. They also had three walks, a HBP, and a sac fly. In 30 plate appearances, they reached base 14 times.
